It is completely up to you. You can take one class, or you can fill your whole schedule. We are a university model, so you can select the level or intensity of each semester/year.

Homeschooling is a lifestyle, unlike traditional school that a bell rings and you begin and a bell rings and you end. Homeschooling consumes the whole day, as it includes proper habit training, reading, household chores, food preparation, arts, handicrafts and academics (often referred to as table-time), sports and other physical activities.

This also depends greatly on the age of the child. Kindergarten- table-time, pencil in hand, hearing instruction takes about 20-40 minutes daily, that should be coupled with being read to, exploring in the kitchen and out of doors. Listening to music, such as folk, classical and other genres.

Middle school the academics will take a bit more time, but also with additional autonomy, likely 2-3 hours a day.

High School, depending on the student and his interest, the academics may take 4-5 hours a day.

But at all levels, concentrating on the true, the good and the beautiful.

YES. Homeschooling is hard, no doubt about it, but it is hard because it is so valuable. It is hard because it is parenting, and involves our whole being. The beauty of homeschooling is you learn together, there is something so amazing about when “lightbulbs” go off for the parent teaching. What better way to ensure your child is a life long learner, than to show daily that you too are learning, and diving into things you are not already familiar with. The goal of a homeschooled parent is that your children learn how to learn and learn to love learning. If you successfully teach that, then they will forever learn whatever they need or want to know.

Charlotte Mason said… The question is not, — how much does the youth know? when he has finished his education — but how much does he care? and about how many orders of things does he care? In fact, how large is the room in which he finds his feet set? and, therefore, how full is the life he has before him?

We require that you apply, pass a background check and sign a statement of faith. You do not need to be a certified teacher, just to be passionate and knowledgeable about your subject, and desire to help children grow in knowledge and wisdom.

No, we have many activities and resources that your child may be interested in, such as orchestra, evening art classes, and. Please note that some activities may be limited to homeschooled children.

Absolutely, there are many offerings at Veritas that your students and families may enjoy that don’t fall in the category of classes.

As homeschoolers we are asked this frequently. While Veritas Collective is about coming together to learn and play, proper socialization is about being able to interact with people of all ages and social economic groups. Mainstream schooling divides people by age and zip code, and asks them to sit parallel to others for 6 or more hours a day.

No. Veritas is a schooling resource center. Our classes are meant to supplement your schooling. Homeschool credits are given by the parent for the courses taken at home as well as elsewhere.

No. However, we are overtly and unapologetically Christian. Curriculum is chosen based on Biblical Worldview. You don’t have to agree, but no concessions offered and no complaints will be accepted regarding this. We believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God by which we strive to live.
